Shavuot on the Mountain Spritual Hike

"We all stood there at Mount Sinai," we say on Shavuot. This year, we'll try to get a little closer to recreating that experience by climbing a (small) mountain ourselves!

Join us for a family-friendly hike on Shavuot this year. We'll bring the Torah scroll up the mountain, stopping along the way for reflection, singing, and activities. We'll gather at the top for an abbreviated Torah reading and learning together. This will be in lieu of a traditional service.

Meet up at 9am at Kennesaw Mountain for a 9:15 hike departure. We will hike from the Visitor Center to the top, where we will hold our Shavuot Service. Kennesaw Mountain Park does not permit vehicles to drive to the top of the mountain on weekends. Kennesaw Mountain Park shuttle does NOT operate on weekends.

The only way to participate will be during the hike, which is about a mile each way. Bring whatever will help you be comfortable outside -- water, snacks, sunblock, bug spray, hats, etc.

The Visitor’s Center is located at 900 Kennesaw Mountain Dr. All parking requires a payment, if you wish to pay in advance, click HERE.

There are a limited number of parking spots in the Visitor Center Parking Lot, we recommend arriving early, carpooling or park at the closest satellite lot and walk over. The closest one is the Overflow Lot at Old 41, about a 1/4 mile walk to the Visitor Center.

We are offering a Yizkor will be held on Zoom, starting at 4:00pm.
