The Netanyahus:  An Account of a Minor and Even Negligible Episode in the History of a Very Famous Family, by Joshua Cohen

 Fiction 2021, 248 pages

Corbin College, not quite upstate New York, winter 1959–1960; Ruben Blum, a Jewish historian is co-opted onto a hiring committee to review the application of an exiled Israeli scholar, Benzion Netanyahu, father of Bibi. He shows up for an interview, family unexpectedly in tow, and they proceed to lay waste to Blum’s American complacencies.  Mixing fiction with non-fiction, the novel is a wildly inventive, genre-bending comedy. Winner of the 2022 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction.

Dinner will be served. Please RSVP by May 12. We will be meeting in the OH courtyard and there will be no ZOOM.
