Join us each Tuesday morning after Minyan for Nosh & Drosh! Over coffee and bagels, we explore themes of compassion, connection, and community in Jewish life. Bring your curiosity and enjoy lively discussion, meaningful insights, and a welcoming group. All are welcome!
We will be joined by Rabbi David Goodman from Jerusalem. He'll be teaching on "Rabbi Akiva and his Students: A Story of Resilience." All are welcome!
Rabbi David Goodman is the rabbi of Moreshet Avraham, a Masorti community in Jerusalem, where he shares the pulpit with his wife and partner, Rabbi Amirit Rosen. He is a research student in Jewish Philosophy at Haifa University, exploring how religious thought is evolving in the 21st century. Alongside his rabbinic work, David is involved in cultural and interfaith initiatives that promote dialogue and mutual respect. He also serves on the board of Rabbis for Human Rights and enjoys both teaching and learning in diverse settings.
Rabbi Akiva and his Students: A Story of Resilience
After losing 24,000 disciples in a devastating tragedy, Rabbi Akiva did not succumb to despair. Instead, he rebuilt with just five new students, who went on to shape the future of Jewish thought. His story teaches us that even in the face of profound loss, perseverance and purpose can lead to renewal and lasting impact.
