Why do we visit the sick? The Power of Showing Up
Sometimes, there’s nothing we can say to make things better. But we can show up.
After a summer serving as a hospital chaplain, Dr. Amy invites us to explore bikur cholim—the Jewish mitzvah of visiting and accompanying those who are sick. Together, we’ll discover what Jewish wisdom teaches about the practical, spiritual, and emotional power of being present with someone in a vulnerable moment—and reflect on our own experiences of showing up and being shown up for.
Join us for a thought-provoking happy hour learning session in the Sukkah. We'll provide some drinks and light nosh. Participants are invited (but not required!) to bring kosher/dairy beverages and snacks to share.
