After Auschwitz: Jewish Belief in the Age of Genocide

How is belief in God possible in the aftermath of the Shoah? Is God dead? Are we experiencing an eclipse of God? Has the covenant between God and the Jewish people been broken? Does God suffer? Is Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) possible in an age of genocide?

Join Marc Gary and Rabbi Lauren to explore these and other questions of modern Jewish belief through a discussion of the writings of major modern Jewish thinkers such as Yitz Greenberg, Richard Rubinstein, Emil Fackenheim and Abraham Joshua Heschel as well as feminist theologian Melissa Raphael and the drashot of R' Kalonymous Kalman Shapira, the rebbe of the Warsaw Ghetto. Come with an open and questioning mind. RSVP here.
