Join us in person to welcome Shabbat. One of the highlights of last summer - fall were our BYOD Picnic Shabbat dinners, basking in the great weather, the ability to safely gather outdoors and FINALLY enjoying the in person company of our friends. We want to build on the experiences of last summer and add a slight twist:
Join us on Friday night for "Tisch Shabbat," where we'll gather around our dinner tables for an abbreviated Kabbalat Shabbat, singing, dinner, bensching, and storytelling. Bring your own dinner as well as favorite songs and stories to share. We kindly ask that all food either be dairy or pareve. The kitchen will not be available for food preparation.
If the forecast extreme heat is still upon us, we will move the “Tisch Shabbat” into our Social Hall.
Tisch, meaning table in Yiddish, comes from the Hasidic tradition of sitting at the meal table with the Rabbi and having an informal service/celebration of niggunim (wordless melodies), songs and prayers. Our version will be an egalitarian and inclusive version of this tradition.
