MH Virtual Hub

Welcome to  our virtual reality! We told you that Hashem is really everywhere, didn't we? Even on Zoom, it turns out!

Introducing the Machon Hadash Common Room  (Click to enter). If you only have one link, make it this one!

The Machon Hadash Common Room (a Zoom room) is open 4:30-6:45pm on Wednesdays and 9:30am-12:30pm on Shabbat. There is always someone in the Common Room who can help you or your child get to wherever they need to be, whether it's a class or a club.

Wednesdays

4:30-5:00 pm -- Tefillah for 3-7th graders in the Common Room

At 5:00, we will dismiss children directly into their next activity using links and break-out rooms.

  • For each Judaics elective at 5:00, we will put a link in the chat for your child to click. Alternatively, you can leave the Common Room and click on the elective link below.
  • For Hebrew tutoring, stay in the Common Room and we will put your child into a breakout room with their teacher.
  • Every child has "break" periods during Machon Hadash. During this time, they can choose from the activities our madrichim are leading, or, if they'd rather take a break from screen time and log out, that is okay, too.

When their first activity concludes -- whether Judaics, Hebrew, or a club/activity -- they will again be ushered back into the Common Room, where we will help them to get to their next activity. Again, if they do not have Judaics or Hebrew at this time, they have the option of joining a club or activity room or logging off.

Here are the direct links to elective classrooms, should you need them:

5:00 pm Creating Israel Through Art (3-4th grade)

5:00 pm Jewish Makers! Building the Fall Holidays (3-5th grade)

5:00 pm Minecraft: Building Jerusalem (6-7th grade)

6:00 pm Jewish Makers! Building the Fall Holidays (3-5th grade)

6:00 pm Jewish Time Machine (5-6th grade)

Shabbat runs similarly

9:30-10:15am -- Virtual Learning option for K-2

9:30-10:15 am -- Tefillah for 3-7th graders (in the Common Room)

At 10:15, we will dismiss 3rd-7th graders directly into their next activity using links and break-out rooms.  If your child does not have Judaics or Hebrew at this time, they can choose from available clubs and activity rooms, and we will put them into the breakout room of their choice. Or, if they'd rather take a break from screen time and log out, that is okay too!

When their first activity concludes - whether Judaics, Hebrew, or a club/activity - they will again be ushered back into the Common Room, where we will help them to get to their next activity. If your child logs off to take a break, they can just come back to the Common Room when they are done, and someone there will help them get to wherever they need to be.

Here are the direct links to the elective classrooms, should you need them:

10:30 am Debate and Mock Trial (7th grade)

10:30 am Hand-drumming the Rhythms of Shabbat (3-4th grade)

11:30 am Beginner Ukulele: Niggunim (5-6th grade)
