11:00 AM - 1:00 PMZoom PlatvormIn 1965, a committed group of Atlanta’s Holocaust survivors and their families recognized the need for a physical place both to remember and grieve lost loved ones, and most significantly to say Kaddish, the mourner’s prayer. Their organization, Eternal Life-Hemshech, raised funds, secured a location and engaged an architect - Benjamin Hirsch, z”l - to create what is now the profoundly moving Memorial to the Six Million at Greenwood Cemetery.
This year marks the 56th Annual Community-wide Yom HaShoah (Day of Holocaust Remembrance) Commemoration, scheduled for a virtual program on April 11, 2021 at 11:00 am. The Atlanta and greater online communities are invited to this special event. Highlights will include the story of the monument ‘s founding and a poignant lighting of the torches onsite in honor of the 6 million Jews that were lost. A special in-home candle lighting ceremony will spotlight local Holocaust survivors. Viewers may join in the Kaddish.
You are invited. Watch the program live at | www.thebreman.org/-YH21 or www.eternallifehemshech.org
