Family Promise Week | June 6 - 13
TOC (Tikkun Olam Committee) along with the Or Hadash community are excited to be a part of an incredible volunteer opportunity in collaboration with Family Promise of North Fulton/Dekalb - ending the cycle of homelessness one family at a time. Please sign-up for as many items as you wish and bring them to SSUMC (Sandy Springs United Methodist Church) no later than Thursday, June 3rd. Please ensure your items are labeled "Family Promise". You may drop donations at SSUMC (86 Mt Vernon Highway, Sandy Springs, GA 30328) office M-F 9am-Noon or during Sunday worship. Reminder, all donations made to Tikkun Olam Fund/Family Promise are used in support of our commitment. Volunteers Needed: Our host location is First Baptist Church of Roswell. In addition to overnight hosts, we will be providing home prepared meals during the week. Please use appropriate sanitary precautions when preparing food and use disposable containers. One Prayer Deep Dive: A Siddur Book Club
8:00 am Tuesday, June 15 (follows Minyan)
If you’ve ever sat in services and wished that you could better understand just one prayer at a time before moving onto the next one, this class is for you! Led by Rabbi Lauren, we’ll gather on Zoom to journey prayer-by-prayer through the morning service, looking at just one prayer a week (and occasionally, over multiple weeks). No Hebrew knowledge or prayer expertise required... just bring your questions, curiosity, and a siddur/prayerbook if you have one (we’ll also be sharing text on screen for those who don’t have a siddur at home).
