About Congregation Or Hadash Youth Programming Youth Programming at Congregation Or Hadash has three major goals: 1.To offer social, cultural, and religious experiences to our youth that will excite and strengthen their commitment to their Jewish roots and positive Jewish identity. This reinforcement often leads to continued Jewish involvement during their college years and through adulthood. 2. To encourage our youth to build lasting friendships with other Jews, and to specifically provide opportunities for religious school and day school members of the congregation to form and strengthen their friendships. 3. To cultivate a sense of comfort and belonging at the synagogue and in Jewish environments. We are shifting our focus from a USY-centered youth program to incorporating an increasingly diverse body of experiences so that we can support a more vibrant, cohesive Or Hadash youth community. For those teens who want to be involved in USY, we will continue to offer them the opportunity to attend regional conventions and citywide events where they can meet and connect with a broader group of Jewish youth. Over the next several months, Rabbis Mario and Analia and interested parents will be opening their homes to our Or Hadash youth. These events will offer programs about relevant youth topics, eating and noshing, and opportunities for teens to be with each other in a casual, fun and relaxed atmosphere. If you are interested in opening your home for one of these get-togethers, have an idea for a program, want to get involved, or have a question, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. We encourage our youth to learn, grow, participate in Tikun Olam, express themselves intellectually and creatively and lastly, have fun and make friends! Congregation Or Hadash offers a Jr. Kadima chapter called "Mamash" for youth in grades 3 to 5, a Kadima chapter for youth in grades 6, 7 and 8, and a USY chapter for high school students.
